Denise M.
Detrick, LCSW
I understand everyone is unique in how they experience the world. I understand how difficult life and relationships can be. With your guidance, we will work towards a collaborative understanding of your experience. Together we will increase awareness and connect how behaviors, thoughts and feelings are directly correlated to our mental state and our history. We will find ways to implement change. Our therapeutic process will create evolution and growth for a more regulated and joyful life.
Experience
I started my private practice in 2002. Before this, I worked in hospice, eating disorder treatment clinics, and mental health agencies. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology from the University of Colorado. I then went on to University of Denver to obtain a Masters in Social Work. After this, I wanted to enhance my clinical skills so I completed the 2 year Psychodynamic Training Program through CU Health Sciences Psychoanalytic Program. I am a trauma-informed therapist and I am trained in EMDR. My dedication to the field of Clinical Social Work includes having been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver Graduate School for Social Work.
